Outreach activities conducted by the Department of Community Medicine in November 2021

As a part of worldbreast cancer awareness program, an initiative was taken by the department of Community Medicine, Yenepoya Medical Collegeto conduct an awareness program on breast cancer. A session was arranged for the staff in Nishara school. The session was delivered by Dr Pavithra H, Assistant Professor, Dept of Community Medicine, YMC. The talk was started with a simple case scenario of an old lady with breast cancer. The signs and symptoms of breast cancer, breast self examination, investigations and treatment aspects of breast cancer were covered in detail. The session was concluded with a brief discussion on the doubts asked.
