Outreach activities conducted by the Department of Community Medicine in August 2021

As a part of breastfeeding week celebration, an initiative was taken by the department of Community Medicine, Yenepoya Medical College to educate mothers regarding Breastfeeding. The session started with an introducing all members of the team. Dr Pavithra H, gave an opening talk on breast feeding and on this year's theme "Protect breastfeeding: A shared responsibility". This was followed by a skit by MBBS students to raise awareness. The topics that were stressed in the skit were initiation of breastfeeding, breastfeeding practices, importance of breastfeeding for newborns and mothers and breastfeeding during COVID pandemic. The session was concluded with a quiz competition among patients and price distribution.
