Surgical Oncology
The Department of Surgical Oncology was established in the year 2016 under the guidance of Professor Dr. M. Vijayakumar and is being headed by Dr. Jalaluddin Akbar K.C. The team includes Surgical Oncology, Gynaeconcology and Head & Neck, Oral cancer surgeon, Breast cancer, Robotic surgery & Laparoscopic cancer surgeries apart from residents, fellows and observers. We have been consistently performing complex oncology surgeries for patients having from all the state of society and have performed many first of its kind surgeries in the region.

To provide comprehensive cancer care with most modern, sophisticated facilities for treatment of cancer and make it as a centre of excellence for treatment, teaching & research in oncology.

Academic Programs
TEACHING : The department runs superspecility post graduation program in the form of M.Ch – Surgical Oncology with an intake of 2 students per year apart from fellowship & Observership.
INTER-DEPARTMENTAL MEETING : Regular teaching programs like seminars, journal clubs, case presentation and clinic pathological meets are conducted in the department. A well structured tumor board with regular meets in the place.
Residents and trainers get to assist and perform under supervision many common and uncommon surgeries including minimal access surgeries. There is a well structural skill training which includes simulation lab, animal lab, and cadaveric lab.
